Wanted --ALIVE-- Partners who Buy cows $ 3500.00 Reward is 5 yrs of western ownership, stewardship, and benefits. Contact westernranchpartners.com
This partnership program is designed to create a meaningful and mutually beneficial connection between Wyoming ranchers and partners interested in preserving the western way of life and the environment for wildlife. Western ranches preserve open spaces, provide wildlife habitat, and support small communities. In the current economic times we need partners that can help the ranchers maintain profitability and sustainability. This partnership program will allow ranching families to continue providing stewardship while giving ranch partners benefits never offered before. Ranch Partners will buy cows in cooperating Cattle Ranches. Partners will own cows for 5 years and receive “Ranch Benefits” for the same amount of time. Some of these benefits are: 1. The ability to do something substantial and sustainable as a Partner to preserve open spaces, wildlife habitat, and western communities. 2. Pride in partial ownership of a great cattle herd in the real west. 3. A source for beef (1/4 beef per year prepaid through partnership)and knowledge of how and where it was raised & processed. 4. Recreational opportunities associated with authentic western ranches on a limited basis: cattle drives, branding, fence repair, reservoir monitoring and maintenance, irrigation etc. Some ranches will have hunting, camping, fishing, rock and fossil hunting opportunities etc. 5. The ability to connect meaningfully with, and help maintain our American heritage. Our goal is to connect urban and Corporate America with rural American ranchers so a relationship can evolve and become mutually beneficial. This is an opportunity to partner with ranchers in a way that will increase the quality and quantity of environmental and economic benefits they are able to provide. We do not want the ranchers to have to change their existing management to become ‘dude ranches’. It is our goal to support what they are doing now and share the “Existing” Ranch Benefits with the partners.
The rancher will continue to manage the herd he has developed. He will receive 75% of the calf crop for cows enrolled in this partnership program. The partner will receive 25% either in dollar value or as a quarter beef from the herd for each of the 5 years the partner owns the cow. (value calculated on weight and local price of 2 year old steer) There is a one-time charge of $3500.00 for all five years. The partner will pay custom processing and shipping charges. The rancher will provide total management including replacement for all livestock losses. To further protect the partners’ investment, and to maintain integrity in the Ranch Partners Program, we will ask all “ranch cooperators” to provide the first line of defense against ranch failure by “self insuring the program”. In the event that a rancher in this program fails and cannot fulfill his partnership obligations, the other ranchers in this program agree to “potentially” run up to 10% additional cows by taking on the cows owned by partners of the failing ranch. The partners purchase agreement will transfer to the new rancher at the same 75-25% split. The rancher then receives ownership of the cow at the end of the partners’ contract time for providing this service. This creates a 10% extra “cow bank”. This cow bank will cover the partners’ benefits in the possible failure of a ranching comrade who has partnership obligations he cannot fulfill. This partnership program infuses capital from the partner to the rancher to pay land debt and provide operating capital to reduce interest costs. This will save the west from having to be sold to developers thus ensuring open spaces to be kept available for wildlife and natural habitat. The rancher relinquishes ownership of some cows and offers some benefits. By doing this he can have his land “debt free” or at least decrease his reliance on the bank. Our goal is to make ranchers recession resilient. The partner has the opportunity to partner up for environmental and economical benefits and enjoy a real western experience. The quarter beef can be used by the company as an incentive bonus for the company or employees, and the ranch benefits can also be scheduled for an employee bonus. A weekend on the ranch can be refreshing. Wyoming communities and the western environment suffer when ranchers have to sell their ranches to housing developers or non-traditional ranch uses. Wyoming Game and Fish personnel have said that a high percentage of Wyoming wildlife depend on private ranch habitat for a critical part of their life cycle. This partnership program is an opportunity for partners to help sustain these ranch benefits so they are not lost forever. We will establish a web site for the “Western Ranch Partners”. The web-site will introduce the ranch partnership concept and give our mission statement and general information. It will list cooperating ranchers and give links to their web-sites. Individual ranch websites will list their ranch history and philosophy and give a description of the ranch. The sites will show some of the environmental benefits they provide. These may include maintaining open spaces for wildlife, water developments, irrigating meadows to create forage, proper grazing practices to provide fresh grass for wildlife etc. The cattle will be shown along with their history and herd information. Individuals, companies, and organizations can choose the ranch they want to “Partner” with to help them meet their needs. |
